Climate change vulnerability assessment of species in the Ontario Great Lakes Basin (CCRR-48)
Summary | |
To better understand the potential effects of climate change on our natural resources, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestrys Natural Heritage Information Centre, the ministrys Climate Change Program, and the Canada-Ontario Agreement Respecting the Great Lakes Basin began a multi-year project to assess the vulnerability of species in the Ontario Great Lakes Basin, focusing on species of conservation concern. Vulnerability is the degree to which a species is susceptible to and unable to cope with the adverse effects of climate change. In this assessment, we provide an overview of how climate change is likely to affect a subset of both common species and species of conservation concern in the near future (20412071).
